Parent Handbook

Welcome to Summer Circuits in Brooklyn Heights!

Here’s a list of what you need to know for the camp day with the Brooklyn Robot Foundry Brownstone Brooklyn, so that you and your kiddo are all prepared for a day of robot-building (and more):

Address: 109 Remsen Street, at the double brown doors inside the gate. Weather permitting, we will be on the steps outside to greet you. If it is raining, we will be just inside the double doors until 9:10 or so. For the camp day, we will be in a space downstairs from the entrance.Photo of 4 kid-made robots being held in their hands

Time: The camp day is from 9AM-4PM (earlier pickup works- please just let our teachers know at drop-off).  We have a late stay option until 5:30PM. Doors open at 8:50AM. As kids filter in, they will get a white paper bag to decorate as they chat with friends or make new ones.

What to Bring: A nut-free snack, a home-prepared lunch with a water bottle, a book (optional), and clothing appropriate for the park. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray in the morning, but you are welcome to pack it if your child can reapply. If you have a younger child who needs help with any aspect of going out to the park, please let us know in your registration and feel free to talk with us at drop-off (or before!)

Who to contact for an urgent issue or early pickup: Alison: 646-389-0774; Bella: 646-498-4190; Cyrus: 202-997-0044

What to Expect: We should have 15-30 kids ages 5-11 together.  We have drawing materials, books, maze books and magazines for quiet time; games (including a foosball table and a ping pong table!), puzzles and more for  choice time; and music, balls and the game tables for movement breaks. Please see the approximate schedule below for an idea what your child will be doing!
