Job Description

We are looking for a Summer Camp Supervisor to join our team!

Work hours

This is a 6 week- Seasonal (July 6th – Aug 14th) Full-Time role with typical hours Mon-Fri from 8am – 4pm. Additional 6-10 hours are scheduled in June for required training.

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly or weekly rate (based on experience)
  • Opportunity for continued work in after-school programs

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Operations
  • Run daily camp operations from setup to dismissal
  • Manage and support a team of instructors/counselors
  • Maintain schedule, pacing, and transitions
  • Handle parent communication (drop-off, pick-up, issues)
  • Ensure attendance tracking and sign-in/out procedures
Program Execution
  • Lead engineering builds and STEM activities
  • Troubleshoot projects and support instructors
  • Keep energy high and kids engaged
  • Adapt lessons based on group needs
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain safe, structured environment at all times
  • Enforce staff-to-camper ratios
  • Handle incidents, behavior issues, and escalation when needed
  • Ensure adherence to all camp policies and procedures
Team Management
  • Train and coach team members
  • Delegate responsibilities clearly
  • Step in wherever needed (this is hands-on leadership)
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience leading camps, classrooms, or youth programs
  • Strong group management skills (you can handle 20+ kids without losing control)
  • High energy, organized, and decisive
  • Ability to manage staff and give clear direction
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Love to make things with your hands (e.g. woodworking, sculpture, crafts, set construction, baking, cooking, etc)
  • Extremely reliable
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Patient and friendly
  • Flexible and like having fun
  • Believe in diversifying the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) classroom
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds
  • Must be able to pass a CPR/First Aid certification (we will arrange a certification class)
