WHAT’S INCLUDED:
MATERIALS:
- Individually-packed robot kits for each student (other than Coders, see below), each week
- If the curriculum is Robot Coders, the kits will be shared across multiple students
- Decorations for each week
DELIVERY:
- Teacher will bring all the weekly building materials. Brooklyn Robot Foundry Manhattan Downtown to store the bin of ongoing supplies at school between classes.
- Brooklyn Robot Foundry Manhattan Downtown teacher(s) will travel to your location and lead each class. The teacher will participate solely in the Brooklyn Robot Foundry Manhattan Downtown class and will not take part in any other portion of your organization’s other activities.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Brooklyn Robot Foundry Manhattan Downtown is the sole provider of these programs. Building instructions are not to be shared and your employees may not build the projects with children outside of our scheduled classes.
Students will be using tools (screwdrivers) and handling materials such as (screws) that may result in minor accidents such as cuts or scrapes. Your organization understands/accepts the liability of their students using these tools and Brooklyn Robot Foundry Manhattan Downtown will not be responsible for these accidents.
REQUIREMENTS
Your organization will provide:
- Classroom with enough desk or table space for each participant to work comfortably
- One additional counter or table for supplies
- Storage space or shelves in the same room the class will be held to store the teacher’s mobile cart for the duration of the program/semester. NOTE: additional transportation costs may be added if storage at the school is not possible.
We reserve the right to use still images and video from the program for marketing or training use, unless we receive written notification from any participants stating otherwise. We will not publish the names of students, but may reference the school/camp/organization.
Implementation Meeting:
Brooklyn Robot Foundry will require a meeting with the school’s point of contact for this program 2-3 weeks before the first day of class. The purpose of this meeting is to go over all the basic requirements needed to ensure a successfully run robot building class. This should include a “tour” or a preview of the classroom where the class will be held and the storage room where the teacher’s cart will be stored. The meeting is preferred in person at the school and should not take more than 15-30 minutes.
SCHOOL’S ASSISTANT REQUIREMENT
If [School] will be providing its own Assistant, it is very important that our recommended student-to-teacher ratio as contracted is followed and met. The difficulty of the classes increases when the right ratios are not maintained, and we want to ensure all students receive the assistance and attention they need. No student should be left behind!
Assistant Skills Required:
- Must be able to assist multiple students with their builds in a short amount of time
- Must have patience with first-time learners
- Must be comfortable using and assisting students with tools and materials such as screwdrivers, tapes, hot glue guns, putting in and taking out batteries from battery packs
CONTRACT & PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
- Final class roster is due 3 weeks before the first day of the session or per date as discussed.
- The remaining classes will be invoiced per the schedule defined when you book the session.
- The invoice will include a credit for the deposit.
CANCELATION TERMS
Your organization will have until the same date as the roster due date or per date as discussed to cancel the classes in writing (email). If canceled prior to the date, the deposit will be refunded less the cost of materials and labor for the first class. If your organization cancels after that date, the deposit and any fees collected will not be refunded.
In the event that your organization is closed for weather or public health reasons, you will not be given any refunds. We will postpone completion of the program to a future date, or find a similarly mutually-suitable arrangement, such as online classes.
There will be no refunds, reductions in price, or makeup classes, for students who register but miss a class. We will not be able to provide a video recording of the class or building instructions.
AGREEMENT
On behalf of my organization, I hereby agree to proceed with the Brooklyn Robot Foundry Manhattan Downtown residency program outlined above, as well as to the associated terms and conditions listed above.
