Brooklyn Flea & Maker Faire Debut
On August 13th, we made our debut at the Fort Greene Brooklyn Flea… and it was a blast!
I have never had 8 hours fly by so quickly. We had a lot of interest and a lot of fun! We met a whole lot of fascinating adults and really inspiring children. We were trying to gauge how interested people would be with our idea and it seems like it was a hit.
We are going to have a booth at Maker Faire on September 17th and 18th. I went last year and Dave went to the one in San Francisco. It really is an amazing event; lots to do, lots to see, lots of ways to be entertained! We are really looking forward to meeting more people, talking about our classes and checking out the robot scene.
We will also have a booth at the Strata Conference at their Thursday event, Mini Maker Faire. This also looks like an amazing event put on by O’Reilly! The conference revolves around data including computing, crunching and visualizing. We were invited to attend the conference to discuss how makers’ projects can be relevant to the world of data collection and computation. We will be there with our robots talking about our class offerings and networking. Fun!
We will have a host of classes designed by the events and will be doing online registration from our booth. In the upcoming days, I will post further information on our site about the classes that we are going to offer in the fall.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
