Our “Box Bot” class

Our Box Bot class went terrifically. Had 12 industrious kids building, testing, and customizing their robots.

The Box Bots provide a great opportunity to teach about axles, cams and worm gears. We brought in a guitar and a music box mechanism, which both make use of worm gears and allowed kids to interact with those gears, as they hooked up their worm drives in their box bots.

At the end, the kids raced their box bots and some had them joust in the robot arena. Lots of fun.
