The Brooklyn Robot Foundry Network
Headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, Brooklyn Robot Foundry is a growing national network delivering hands-on robotics programs in schools across the country. Our instructors are trained in a nationally developed curriculum designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and real-world problem solving through robotics. We provide hands-on, screen-free STEAM programs for PreK–8th grade students. We are mobile, which means we bring the robots to you, wherever you are. We have some great community partners who allow us to host classes in their spaces too. We’re always building robots somewhere!

How it works for organizers
We make hosting a premium STEAM experience simple and easy by bringing our fully mobile, turnkey program straight to your school, after-school venue, or party space. Our team handles everything from bringing robot kits, tools, and decorations, keeping a supportive 8:1 student-to-instructor ratio, to of course set up & clean up of the space. We are equipped to manage the entire online registration and parent communication process through our own secure portal. All you need to do is provide the space, and we will handle the rest!
Program Information

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, extracurriculars director, camp counselor, or corporate manager, our programs are sure to engage and excite you and your crew. We can adapt our programs and experiences to best fit a wide range of age groups, from preK to adults events. The majority of our projects are geared towards preK-5th grade.

Curriculum Information
Our programs follow a progression designed to grow with students from early childhood through middle school. Each level introduces age-appropriate engineering concepts, creative design, and hands-on robotics projects that build confidence, problem-solving skills, and curiosity.
Mini Makers (ages 2–5)
Our youngest builders explore robotics through storytelling and guided building with a parent or adult helper.
Robot Rookies (Kindergarten)
Kindergarten students begin building robots more independently while learning foundational STEAM concepts and creative design. Projects are designed to build confidence, motor skills, and early problem-solving skills.
Robot Builders (1st–2nd grade)
Our signature program where students learn engineering fundamentals like circuits, motors, and components through hands-on robot building projects they design and customize themselves.
Robot Inventors (3rd–5th grade)
Students take on more complex robotics builds and are encouraged to experiment, prototype, and develop their own designs while strengthening creativity, patience, and engineering thinking.
Robot Coders (5th–8th grade) – COMING SOON
Students combine robot building with block-based programming, learning how to control sensors, motors, and servos while exploring real-world robotics concepts like coding logic, automation, and design thinking.
The Collin County team
Hello! My name is Lucy, and I was born and raised in Plano. My husband, Jonny, and I own/operate the Collin County chapter of Brooklyn Robot Foundry.
I’ve always been a math and science kid, and my background is in engineering and Big Tech. After years of working corporate, I was ready to do something more purposeful. I’ve always loved working with kids, and I’ve previously been a private tutor, STEM guest teacher in classrooms, and mentor. My husband is a serial entrepreneur and encouraged me to start something that better aligned with my passions.
This calling (and our own joy when building The Foundry’s robots) drove us to open this branch of Brooklyn Robot Foundry. I especially love how our robot-building challenges and empowers kids to tinker and help each other. It’s so rewarding to see how engaged kids get in our screen-free, hands-on, side-by-side environment. We are so proud to be nurturing the next generation of builders, right here in Collin County.

Needs Based Scholarships
From time to time, we are able to offer need-based scholarships for our programs. The spots are awarded on a first come, first served basis. These scholarships cover the entire program fee. Participants will be required to pay for only materials and extended stay (when applicable). We don’t do any sort of verification of your need… we trust that if you pay a reduced price it is because that is what your budget can afford.
